Awesome game? I think that Quake 4 was the biggest let down of that gaming year.

I'm a huge fan of the first 3 installments of the Quake series, so was looking forward to Quake 4, especially as it was the follow up to the quite frankly FANTASTIC Quake 2.

I was hugely disappointed that Quake 4 had neither the style, the "feel" (like how the game played), or the story of Quake 2.

If anything, it felt more like Doom3 2, than Quake 4.

:(
One of the advantages of horses that people sometimes point out, is that they very seldom explode. Almost never, in my experience, apart from that unfortunate occurence in the hot summer a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I actually really like Doom3, I've just been playing through it again!

But with Quake 4, it just didn't feel like Quake to me, the pace had been knocked back, so it wasn't as fast (it felt like that anyway, it's been ages since I last played it).

But yeah, loads of people rave about it, I guess it's just one of those things!

You played Enemy Territory yet?

Nah I haven't, I'm not actually a big gamer, I was given by Quake 4 by someone who couldn't use it, someone else gave me Half Life 2 cause they had it then got The Orange Box, so gave me the other copy, other than that I've got Dawn of War and some CSI Games from christmas a while ago
I am getting into my gaming a bit more though, really been enjoying Q4 and HL2, and I've started FFIX on the Ps1 again, gunna borrow X-2 even though I've heard it's bad soon too :)

FFIX is fantastic! Pretty much every FF game is great, and X-2 isn't bad as such, it's just fairly different in direction and style to most of the FF games!

Gutted, I was hoping to be able to canvas opinion for Enemy Territory, I think I'm gonna need to update my computer to run it, and was hoping I could find out if it was worth it.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to go somewhere else on the internet for that! :D

Yeah, IX is my favourite (I may start a thread now on em) and yeah, that's what I meant, I definitely want to give it a go, I'm going to buy them all as soon as I can, from VII to XII (I've not played XII either..:( )

Aye, sorry I can't help :P
