Thread Bumping Rule:

Postby scarr3d on Sun Oct 28, 2007 6:32 pm

Ok, so alot of forums have a rule about bumping threads, so I thought I'd have one too. My rule is as follows:

Bump threads all you like! I don't mind, really. Even though there aren't many threads at the time of writing this, I'm looking into the future.
I'd much prefer the bumping of threads than a completely new thread being created, it keeps the place neater and more organized.

EDIT: (Thank to pringa) Make sure that you put 'BUMPED' in your post when you do bump a thread so that we know that you have.

If you want to make a new thread, I'd advise the use of the Search feature first and if there is a thread already made for your topic, use that to post in.

Any questions, you know who to ask.

what do you think of adding a rule where you have to write 'bump' at the top of your post when you 'bump' a thread?

it'll make it easy to see where a thread has been bumped

are threads likely to get closed if they are not bumped or are you going to keep all the rule abiding threads open even if they have been abandoned?

Good question, I'll only be closing threads if they break any of the main rules, threads will rarely be closed, although if they get too big, another will be created to replace it and the first one will be closed.

Always PM the moderator of the specific forum that the thread is in if you want to make a replacement thread and they will give you the ok to do so.

I'm also thinking of creating a 'Thread Archive' to put really old or closed threads in.

a thread archive sounds good. what about calling it the 'forum of the dead'?

"Dead Threads"

Not as in zombie clothes, as in threads that have died.
One of the advantages of horses that people sometimes point out, is that they very seldom explode. Almost never, in my experience, apart from that unfortunate occurence in the hot summer a few years ago.
